Erik ten Hag is defeated by Joao Pedro’s stoppage-time header as Brighton & Hove Albion defeats Manchester United 2-1.

Under new manager Fabian Hurzeler, Brighton continued their winning streak against Manchester United, defeating the visitors 2-1 at the rain-soaked American Express Stadium thanks to a late header from João Pedro.
With five minutes of seven minutes played in added time, the home forward arrived unmarked in the United box to head beyond goalkeeper Andre Onana from Simon Adingra’s pinpoint cross.
After Danny Welbeck scored his 100th competitive senior goal with a tap-in finish for Brighton on minute 32, Erik ten Hag’s team equalized an hour later through a deflected drive by Amad Diallo.
Even though a draw was probably a fair outcome, United will be disappointed that they were given an offside call when Alejandro Garnacho, a fellow substitute, scored with 20 minutes remaining after his finish deflected off his knee and into the goal.
After a 3-0 victory over Everton last weekend, Brighton moved up to six points, while United will be left to regret the defensive blunders that cost them a fifth straight loss against the high-flying Seagulls.
