Nasboi explains his decision to abstain from the national protest.

Nigerian comedian Nasboi provides an explanation for his and many other celebrities’ refusal to join the general public in the nationwide protest.

This was said by Nasboi in a since-deleted tweet for which he faced criticism.

He says that after he raised his voice the last time, he got threats, and when he posted the messages online, people made fun of him.

That only strengthened his resolve to remain silent about politics and protests.

He also clarified that, contrary to popular belief, politicians do not give money to celebrities.

In his words;

“Me, protest? Lol. The last time I spoke up, dem use threaten wan finish my life. I come tweeter come post the dm’s of threats, Na laugh people dey laugh for here. A lot of celebrities don’t get money off politics like you insinuate. Buh na just fear of being a scape goat.”
