Islamic group demands justice for a woman who was allegedly raped inside a mosque

The Muslim Right Concern, MURIC, demanded justice on Wednesday for a woman who was allegedly raped inside a worship center in Oyo State.

This was revealed in a statement by the country’s Oyo State Ambassador, Ibrahim Agunbiade.

MURIC, an Islamic organization, stated that it would do everything possible to ensure that the incident was not overlooked.

According to the statement, the group has confirmed that the suspect is Idris, also known as Kesari Rekereke.

According to MURIC, Idris was the son of a powerful transport union leader known in the Oyo State National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

Part of the statement reads: “We call for the prosecution of Idris and warn that the case must not be swept under the carpet.

“We commend the police for arresting the culprit. Justice must not only be done in this case but it must also be seen to have been done.”

MURIC also urged Oyo’s Muslim faithful to remain calm and law-abiding, rather than taking the law into their own hands.
