Osimhen to face charges from NFF following his verbal abuse on Finidi

The first-choice striker for the Super Eagles, Victor Osimhen, will face charges from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in the coming days for inappropriate behavior related to his verbal abuse of Finidi George, the former head coach of Nigeria’s senior national team.

Furious over rumors that the coach doubted his dedication to the team, the Napoli forward called out Finidi, the team’s coach until he submitted his resignation letter on Friday in response to the NFF’s announcement that they would be hiring an expatriate coach.

Osimhen went all out on the coach on the reason why he missed the team’s world cup qualifiers games against south Africa and Benin Republic, which they drew 1-1 and lost 1-2 respectively to drop to 5th in their group, four points behind leader Rwanda.

“Already the president of the NFF Ibrahim Muse Guseu has spoken with Osimhon over his outburst and Finidi also reached out to him. The report he reacted to is fake and misleading, sadly he didn’t confirm bofore reacting”, a board member of the NFF told Owngoal Nigeria.com.

“Osimhen is a role model and the only way we can help the incoming coach stamp his authority is by using him to set example. Even after Finidi called him to clarify, he still did not think it appropriate to back down from his remarks, which went too far in his outburst. We will not support that, and we will discuss it further after the Salah break. “Until he expresses regret for his actions, I can assure you that he will not be included in the team,” he said.
