Nigeria winger Ademola Lookman is reeling with excitement after playing a crucial role in Atalanta’s victory against Olympic Marseille on Thursday night.
La Dea booked a spot on the final of the Europa League after a 3-0 victory in the second leg of the semi-final contest.
The two teams battled to a 1-1 draw in the first leg last week.
Lookman was instrumental to Atalanta’s victory at the Gewiss Stadium, scoring once and also providing an assist.
It’s the first time Gian Piero Gasperini’s side will be playing in the final of an European competition.
“Yes, we made history. An amazing performance from the team. We’re in the final and we’re going to Dublin so I’m very, very happy,” Lookman told UEFA’s official website.
“I’m very happy with the goal obviously, and helping the team any way I can.”
Atalanta will face Bundesliga champions, Bayer Leverkusen in the final in Dublin on Wednesday, May 22.
