Tinubu Is the Problem, Not the Subsidy: Why Nigerians Are Wrong to Miss Buhari

I cannot believe it — Nigerians are already missing Buhari. The same intellectuals who used him to torpedo progress under GEJ are now leading the charge for his return to power, just wearing a different face.

Why is that so? Because they cannot do the hard work of guiding and guarding the people to choose and enthrone competent, credible leadership. It is easier to blame the idea for the suffering than to blame the person executing it badly.

Tinubu is the problem — not the removal of the fuel subsidy. Economic activity dropped drastically under Buhari because businesses had no access to forex. Your cost of living has been hit so hard under Tinubu because he devalued the naira far beyond its real value, through incompetence and a lack of discipline.

What would actually deliver stable forex access, let production flourish, and bring the cost of living down is better management of available resources — cutting out criminality and waste, and bringing the exchange rate down to where it ought to be, around ₦1,000/$1.
