A Nigerian lady has gone viral after sharing an awkward experience she had at a salon, where a simple conversation reportedly escalated into tension over body odour and professionalism.
The lady, identified as @Olami_deeEbony on X (formerly Twitter), said she struggled with body odour while having her hair washed at the salon. After the service, she quietly asked one of the salon workers what body spray she preferred.
According to her, the question backfired when the worker admitted she doesn’t like body spray and later confronted her over the implication that she had body odour.
The situation reportedly escalated further when the salon owner intervened, visibly upset and insisting the client should not speak to her staff that way. The lady said she chose to walk away without further explanation.
She wrote: “The madam too got upset and said I shouldn’t speak to her staff like that. I just carried my bag and left quietly without explaining myself. Whoever wants to smell should smell abeg I don’t care again.”
The post has since triggered mixed reactions online, with many debating hygiene, sensitivity, and how such issues should be handled in public spaces.
