A Nigerian woman has stirred massive reactions online after revealing that the rent for her three-bedroom apartment has remained unchanged for six years despite the rising cost of housing across the country.
The woman, identified as X user @Taiwothoughts, shared that she moved into the apartment in 2020 and has consistently paid just ₦250,000 per year since then.
According to her, her landlord has never increased the rent, even as rental prices in many parts of Nigeria have skyrocketed.
She further explained that the apartment is fully tiled, has running water, and all essential amenities are in proper working condition.
What shocked many social media users even more was her claim that similar three-bedroom flats in her area now cost as much as ₦1.2 million annually.
Her post quickly went viral, with many Nigerians expressing disbelief, admiration, and even concern that publicizing such information could lead to a sudden rent hike.

Mixed Opinions Online
While some praised the landlord for rare kindness and stability, others argued that such comfort could discourage long-term property ownership goals.
For many Nigerians facing steep rent increases, the story served as both inspiration and surprise, highlighting just how uncommon stable rental agreements have become in today’s housing market.
