Popular content creator Untouchable Comedies has warned the public to exercise caution when using power banks after a frightening fire outbreak in his home, which he says was caused by one of the devices.
The comedian shared the incident on his social media page, revealing that the fire occurred around 5 a.m. while he was asleep.
According to him, the power bank allegedly exploded and set part of his furniture ablaze, badly damaging a chair in his house.
In the video posted online, Untouchable Comedies displayed the extent of the damage and stressed that the situation could have been far worse if not for divine intervention.
He explained that his reason for sharing the experience was to create awareness about the dangers associated with improper handling of portable charging devices, especially while sleeping.
He strongly advised people not to keep power banks too close to themselves during the night and urged users to prioritize safety when charging or storing electronic gadgets.
Speaking in the video, he said:
“Guys I’m creating this awareness because this is what happened in my house. I don’t know who need to hear it and I need to say it out. Make everybody dey careful, na God save me from this one.
“Please for those of you using power banks, be careful. Don’t always keep it close to you when you are sleeping. This happened in my house around 5 am. My chair burnt down because of power bank. Guys be very careful.”
The incident has since sparked concern online, with many social media users sharing similar experiences and emphasizing the importance of using certified electronic devices to reduce fire hazards.
