A Nigerian woman has stirred intense reactions online after sharing a deeply personal account of her 13-year marriage, revealing how emotional pain and frustration led her to repeatedly place curses on her husband during difficult periods.
In a lengthy post circulating on social media, the woman recounted how her husband had very little when they got married. However, about two years into the marriage, his financial situation improved significantly, as he began acquiring cars and landed properties.
According to her, this newfound wealth came with a change in attitude. She alleged that her husband became neglectful at home while maintaining a generous image outside, leaving her to struggle with basic needs like feeding the family.
The emotional strain, she said, pushed her to a breaking point.
“When the whole trauma was too much, I started laying curses on him. With tears and heavy heart, each day he provoked me, I would lay curses on him.”
She explained that her prayers at the time were driven by anger, often asking that his finances collapse so his ego would be reduced.
The woman claimed that not long after, her husband lost his job and remained financially unstable for about three years, from 2020 to 2023. During that period, she became the primary provider for the household, while he struggled with unemployment.
According to her, the experience humbled him and exposed deeper issues within their marriage.
Seeking help, she said she later joined an online church where a female preacher advised her that her words carried spiritual weight. She was encouraged to stop cursing her husband and instead pray positively for him.
She followed the advice, and she claims that shortly afterward, her husband’s financial situation improved again.
However, the situation at home reportedly remains unstable. The woman alleged that some of his negative behaviors have resurfaced—particularly during conflicts. She accused him of staying out late, ignoring her calls, and withholding financial support when disagreements arise.
She also described incidents she labeled as “wickedness,” including him allegedly tossing her phone aside and refusing to help with simple chores like washing her clothes while doing his own.
Frustrated and exhausted, the woman said she recently confronted her husband with a stern warning, stating that she would not hesitate to “call on God again” if his behavior continues.
She ended her account with a strong statement, saying she told him he would “suffer till he dies” if he keeps mistreating her and their children.
