A Nigerian man has shared the painful betrayal he says he experienced just two years into his marriage, after allegedly discovering that his wife sold all his properties without his knowledge.
According to his account, he had entrusted his wife with all his property documents, including lands and houses, because he believed in her honesty and strong religious values.
He explained that he even bought some of the properties in her name, thinking they were building their future together as a family.
However, the situation reportedly changed last month when his business began facing serious financial difficulties. In an effort to settle a loan and stabilise his struggling business, the man said he approached his wife and asked her to bring out the property documents.
At that moment, he claimed his wife began shivering before eventually confessing that she had sold all the properties.
According to her confession, the properties were sold to raise money to help her brother.
The revelation left the man devastated, as he said everything he had worked for over the years had suddenly disappeared.
He added that he has since reported the matter to the authorities, leading to the arrest of both his wife and her brother.
Despite this, he said family members and even the police have been pleading with him to show mercy and reconsider the case against her.
Meanwhile, the man revealed that his business is still struggling and his debts continue to pile up, leaving him uncertain about how to rebuild what he has lost.
