Lekki Barber Sparks Buzz After Claiming ₦100k per Haircut, ₦12m Weekly Income

A Nigerian lady has set social media buzzing after sharing her encounter with a barber in Lekki who charges over ₦100,000 for a single haircut.

The lady, known as @vaphor on X, recounted that she and her friends had gone out when some of them decided to stop by a barbing salon in the Lekki area. Curious, they followed them inside — only to discover the shocking price list.

According to her, the barber told them that ₦100,000 was actually on the lower end of what he charges. He reportedly claimed that celebrities pay as much as ₦500,000 per haircut. Even more surprising, he allegedly said he earns between ₦8 million and ₦12 million weekly from the business.

Sharing her disbelief online, she wrote that what was meant to be a casual stop turned into a moment of astonishment as they processed the figures being mentioned.

Her post quickly gained traction, triggering mixed reactions from Nigerians.

One user, Tianah, pointed out that location plays a major role in pricing, noting that there is a significant difference between mainland and island services in Lagos.

Another commenter, Favie X, joked that her own barber charges just ₦1,500, highlighting the wide gap in pricing.

X Milly suggested that ₦100,000 might not even be surprising in certain circles, while Mr Ken questioned how a single haircut could possibly justify such a fee.

Eroyal added humor to the debate, saying he would rather stick to his shaving stick than pay such an amount.

The discussion has since evolved into a broader conversation about luxury services, wealth disparity, and how location and clientele can significantly influence pricing in Lagos.
