A viral classroom livestream has stirred outrage after a teacher allegedly monetised a student’s punishment on TikTok, asking viewers to send virtual gifts before releasing the child.
From the clip circulating on X (formerly Twitter), the teacher—described online as a “new age” educator—was seen teaching while streaming live. During the session, a male student was reportedly kneeling as punishment. Instead of resolving the matter privately, the teacher told viewers to send 10 “roses” (a paid TikTok virtual gift) before he would allow the student to stand up.
He was heard saying:
“That’s your brother kneeling on the ground, and he go dey there. But if you can send 10 roses, I will let him go and sit.”
Viewers reportedly complied, and once the gifts were sent, the student was released.
