“Unless They Kill God”: Nigerian Lady Sparks Outrage After Allegedly Sharing Mother’s Curses and Threats

A Nigerian lady has ignited widespread reactions on social media after sharing alleged WhatsApp messages from her mother that many described as deeply hurtful, disturbing, and emotionally abusive.

The lady, identified on social media as @atouchofcee, took to TikTok to post screenshots of messages she said were sent by her mother, Precious Chikodi Justice. The messages, which have since gone viral, reportedly contained curses, threats, and harsh declarations about her future.

According to the screenshots, the mother accused her daughter of wrongdoing and went as far as placing curses on her life, claiming that only she had the power to reverse them. She allegedly warned that her daughter would no longer succeed and that her friends, helpers, and people destined to assist her in life would abandon her unless she returned to apologise and “recognise” her authority.

A portion of the messages reportedly read:

“U will not succeed again and nobody can reverse it except me Mrs Precious Chikodi Justice. Just watch and see. From now, all ur best friends and destiny helpers will cut off from u. Except you come and apologise and recognise me as…”

Reacting publicly, @atouchofcee expressed shock and disbelief at the severity of the words, questioning how such statements could come from a parent. In a defiant response accompanying the screenshots, she wrote:

Who will be against me when God be for me. Oh well, unless they kill God.”

Her post quickly gained traction online, triggering intense conversations about toxic parenting, emotional manipulation, and the cultural belief in parental curses. Many users expressed sympathy for the young woman, while others debated the long-term psychological impact of such messages on children.

Netizens React

Social media users flooded the comment sections with mixed reactions. While some condemned the mother’s words as abusive and unacceptable, others urged reconciliation, citing cultural and religious beliefs about respecting parents.

Several commenters questioned how a mother could speak such harsh words over a disagreement, while others used the incident to highlight the need for better conversations around mental health, boundaries, and parent-child relationships in Nigerian homes.

As the post continues to circulate, it has become a flashpoint for broader discussions on family dynamics, emotional trauma, and the fine line between discipline and abuse.
