Dramatic moment in Abuja as soldiers block Wike from entering FCT land, minister loses cool

A dramatic video of Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has gone viral after he was blocked by soldiers from accessing a land in Gaduwa, Abuja, on Tuesday, November 11.

The footage captures a tense exchange between the minister and military personnel, sparking widespread reactions on social media.

Wike had led officials of the Federal Capital Territory Development Authority (FCDA) to inspect a land in Gaduwa when armed soldiers stopped the convoy from entering.

Security aides tried to intervene, but the soldiers insisted they were acting on orders from above, refusing to let the minister and his team proceed.

The situation escalated as Wike confronted the soldiers, raising his voice at one officer.

You are a very big fool! As at the time I graduated, you were still in primary school,” he shouted angrily, while the soldier calmly responded, “I am not a fool but an officer with integrity.”

The dramatic confrontation was captured on camera and quickly circulated online.

Angry at the obstruction, Wike said, “You cannot be higher than any government. You cannot be carrying a gun to intimidate anybody. I am not one of those that they can intimidate.”

He also questioned why military officers could not approach his office to resolve the matter peacefully, instead of using their authority to intimidate.

“I don’t understand how somebody who attained that position, seeing that he has a problem, cannot approach my office to say, ‘Look, this is what’s going on,’ or simply because he is a military man, they could use that to intimidate Nigerians. I’m not one of those kinds of people who will succumb to blackmail,” he added.

The viral video has sparked intense discussion online.
