A member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) at Iyana-Ipaja in Lagos State allegedly assaulted a bus conductor over 100 naira, according to a social media user.
This was revealed in a post shared on TikTok by user user7859403580014, who claimed to have witnessed the incident. The video showed the bus conductor being assaulted by a member of the NURTW after a disagreement over money.
According to the witness, the NURTW member approached the bus driver and conductor, demanding a 100 naira fee.
Explaining further, the user wrote: “Early today the member of the Agbero (NURTW) Iyana-Ipaja branch assaulted a bus conductor after he removed his bus rubber to the extent that blood started coming out from his mouth just because the conductor delayed a payment of 100 or so. Meanwhile the conductor never said he is not going to pay but was just trying to explain one or two things to the Agbero. He never calmed to listen, then he started hitting him. This is so bad.”
The act was condemned by the user and as the video circulated online, concerned individuals trooped to the comment section to express their thoughts on the matter.
