Anambra man allegedly kidnaps friend and demands ₦5.3 million in ransom

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested Muanaenye Victor, a 24-year-old Nigerian, for allegedly tricking his friend into falling into a kidnapping trap set by his criminal gang in Uli, Ihiala Local Government Area.

According to reports, Victor tricked his friend into accompanying him to see someone before turning him over to the gang, who then demanded a ransom.

Police investigations reveal that the gang obtained a ransom in the amount of 5.3 million Naira before releasing the victim.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Anambra State Police Command spokesperson DSP Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed the arrest and said Victor is assisting investigators by providing leads that will help them catch his accomplices.
