A Bolt driver allegedly tried to arrange for his brother to be robbed, according to a Nigerian man who has expressed alarm on social media.
On X (formerly Twitter), user @Disculpe__ posted about the incident, stating that his brother had just barely escaped a robbery attempt the night before.
He said his brother had used the Bolt app to order a ride, but the driver abruptly pulled over while the car was traveling, saying it was overheating.
Shortly after, three unidentified men allegedly tried to rob and possibly hurt his brother after suddenly showing up.
He wrote: “Everyone, please be careful using Bolt. This driver tried to set my brother up last night claiming his car was overheating. Three men came out of nowhere to rob and almost kill him. @boltapp @BoltNigeria why do you keep employing thieves?”
The post has since sparked concerns online, with many calling on Bolt Nigeria to investigate the matter and improve passenger safety.
