A female student of Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, has taken to social media to cry out after she and other hostel occupants were attacked by over 20 armed men around 1 a.m.
She shared a video of the June 4 incident on TikTok, in which she explained how the robbers, armed with cutlasses and guns, broke into their compound while they were asleep.
The student claimed that the attackers forced open her door after breaking through their gate and barbed wire.
“I want to make a video concerning what they did to us on the 4th of June around 1 a.m. midnight. People came to our compound, they were more than 20,” she said.
“They came with guns and cutlasses. They broke my door. I was sleeping when they entered inside.”
She claimed that the robbers had no trouble entering even with the security barriers in place.
She described how they emptied her account, took her phone, made her give them her password and bank PIN, and pointed a gun at her.
“They robbed everybody in the compound. They were shooting guns, I’ve never experienced such thing in my life. I even wee on my body.” she added.
The clearly shaken student said that the students no longer felt safe in their dorms and pleaded with the school administration for assistance and protection.
Concerned people expressed their sympathy for her in the comment section of the post as it went viral online and called for the school and security services to act right away.
