Dr. Ramon Adedoyin, the popular owner of the Hilton Hotel in Ile-Ife, was recently sentenced to death by hanging by the Osun State High Court for the murder of Timothy Adegoke.
Timothy Adegoke, a former postgraduate student at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, was murdered inside his Hilton Hotel room in November 2021.
In connection with the murder, the Hilton Hotel owner and six of his employees were arrested and charged.
The court was presided over by Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo, the chief judge of Osun State, who found Adedoyin and two of his staff, Adeniyi Aderogba and Kazeem Oyetunde, guilty of six of the 18 charges leveled against them.
While delivering her decision in the case, Ojo stated that the circumstantial evidence available to the court pointed to Adegoke’s murder while he was a guest at Adedoyin’s hotel.
Justice Ojo, on the other hand, discharged and acquitted three of the staff members: Magdalene Chiefuna, Lawrence Oluwole, and Adedeji Adesola.
Adedoyin was too stunned to speak after the verdict, according to a video clip that has gone viral.
