Mrs. Blessing Adeniran, a Nigerian mother, is demanding answers from the management of Chrisland High School in Lagos state after her 12-year-old daughter, Desola Whitney Adeniran, collapsed and died last Thursday, February 9, while attending the school’s Inter House sports at the Agege Stadium.
The distraught mother stated in a video posted online that she was at the event to watch her daughter compete. She stated that she became concerned when she did not see her daughter during the previous match as well as other sporting events.
Mrs. Adeniran stated that she went to the location where the students were all kept to check on her child. She claimed that while she was there, a male student informed her that a certain Whitney had fainted and had been rushed to the hospital.
Mrs. Adeniran stated that one of the staff members approached her and informed her that Whitney had been rushed to the hospital. When she arrived, she discovered her daughter’s body. She stated that the school has yet to provide full details about what happened to her child.
The distraught mother claimed that the school claimed her 12-year-old had a cardiac arrest and slumped. Mrs. Adediran stated that her baby girl was not sick and had no pre-existing heart condition, and she was perplexed as to why she had a cardiac arrest.
She is demanding that the school reveal the truth about what happened to her child so that she can bury her child in peace.
She also complained about the poor first aid management and how her daughter was dead on arrival. She claimed the school took her daughter to a health center first before rushing her to the hospital.
