Osun: Thugs Stab a Labour Party Chieftain and Attack Others

Rabiu Ismaila, the leader of the Labour Party (LP), was reportedly stabbed by thugs in Osun State.

Ismaila and other LP members were attacked for pasting posters of a House of Representatives candidate in the state’s Atakunmosa East Local Government Area.

Some LP members in Ijeshaland’s Owode, Igangan, and Olopon communities have repeatedly cried out about thugs’ constant attacks.

Ismaila, who is currently receiving treatment at the hospital, claimed in an interview that the thugs are members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

“I am still receiving treatment at Wesley Guild hospital in Ilesa after being hacked by PDP political thugs,” he said. Iwara is where the thugs are from. Six of those thugs attacked me on November 30th. I was attacked because I had pasted posters of the Labour Party’s House of Representatives candidate, Kunle Gideon, also known as Aloba. That is my only transgression. In that area, we live in fear.”

Another victim stated that the same hoodlums who attacked Ismaila destroyed his property after storming his home and also attacked other members of the party late Thursday around 11 p.m. in Olopon Ajegunle village.

“They came to my house, forced their way inside, and began destroying my property,” he explained. Thank goodness we were able to flee. Tayo, also known as Ijoba, was among those who came to attack us. Our local cops are incapable of dealing with these thugs.”

In response to the attacks, the state’s LP Chairman, Bello Adebayo, urged the state’s Commissioner of Police, Sunday Faleye, to arrest and prosecute all of the thugs who attacked the party’s members.
