Dr Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi, the Emir of Dutse in Jigawa State, died on Tuesday at the age of 78.
This was confirmed in a statement signed by Auwalu Sankara, the state governor’s Senior Special Assistant for New Media.
He stated that the emir died in an Abuja hospital after a long illness.
Jigawa State Governor Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar issued a statement expressing his condolences to the family and the entire state.
He described the late Emir as a true leader and a respected figure in the community, known for his wisdom, compassion, and commitment to his people’s well-being.
He also acknowledged the Emir’s contributions to the growth and development of Dutse, as well as his positive impact on the community.
Following the death of his father, Dr Muhammad Sanusi was appointed Emir of Dutse by the military administration of Late Colonel Ibrahim Aliyu in 1995.
