A lady who contributed to a crowdfunding campaign for a cancer patient known as Aunty Esther has asked for her donation to be returned after the patient rejected a blood transfusion recommended by doctors.
The patient, a Jehovah’s Witness, chose to decline the procedure based on her religious beliefs and opted instead for alternative treatments.
An update shared online by the campaign organizer explained that although Aunty Esther is responding to care and her blood levels are being managed for the next stage of treatment, she turned down the transfusion required before chemotherapy could begin.
The organizer noted that while the decision would prolong treatment and increase costs, her religious conviction must be respected and all donated funds would continue to be used for her medical needs.

The influencer, @Wizarab10 shared an update saying:
“Thanks to you all that have been supportive with donation and care for Aunty Esther 🙏🏾
Latest update is that she is responding to care. Her blood levels are being optimized for the next phase of care.
She was offered the option of blood transfusion before she can begin chemo, but she declined due to her faith. She is a Jehovah’s witness and thus, opting for other alternatives. Though it will take longer and cost more, we have to respect her religious belief.
The medical team has a diagnosis now, which is currently guiding her line of care. All funds will be channelled towards her medical bills and hospital care. Once again, thank you for your kindness 🙏🏾”
Shortly after the update, one of the contributors publicly requested a refund. The donor argued that she worked hard to earn the money she contributed and felt dissatisfied that the patient was declining medical advice while relying on public donations.
The lady identified as Miss Kenny replied saying:
“Can i respectfully ask for my money back?
