Yobe International Cargo Airport in Damaturu, built for many billions of naira, was officially opened under President Muhammadu Buhari.
President of the Senate Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, Minister of Power Abubakar Aliyu, the governors of Yobe and Borno states, among others, accompanied Buhari when he arrived in the state from Yola.
The Yobe’s airport will now be referred to as Muhammadu Buhari International Cargo Airport, Damaturu.
One of the legacy projects scheduled for commissioning on Monday, January 9, 2023, is the airport.
Other projects completed by the Gov. Buni administration are an estate with over 3,000 homes, four contemporary markets, and a 300-bed capacity maternal, newborn, and child health complex with state-of-the-art amenities that is awaiting the President’s inauguration.
