Mother of Afrobeat artist Burna Boy, Bose Ogulu, has talked about how her career was impacted by being raised around the late great musician Fela Kuti.
Bose Ogulu said in a recent interview with Famouz TV that even though she did not grow up with Fela and his crew for very long, she nevertheless learned a lot about managing an artist.
She clarified that, as an adult, she was aware that a manager is accountable for more than an artist, including paying the band members and taking care of other tasks.
Being Fela’s manager at the time, her father oversaw the crew because everyone came to him rather than Fela.
She emphasized the need of responsible artist management, citing the significant impact it has had on her current career as an artist manager.
