Abia Governor’s Wife Donates 35 Homes to Widows Under Dignity Homes Initiative

The wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, has handed over 35 newly built, fully furnished three-bedroom homes to indigent widows drawn from the state’s 17 local government areas, under her Dignity Homes Initiative.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mrs. Otti said the project was designed to restore hope, dignity, and decent living conditions for vulnerable women, stressing that the initiative was about more than shelter — it was meant to give beneficiaries a genuine fresh start. She called on individuals, religious organizations, and corporate bodies to join efforts to support the less privileged across the state.

The gesture has drawn widespread commendation online, with many Nigerians describing it as a meaningful and tangible intervention, though some have urged a greater push toward long-term economic empowerment alongside welfare gestures like this one.
