A lady has sparked discussion on social media after recounting how a friend reacted to the ₦15,000 she sent after being told the woman was hungry and stranded.
According to the lady, her friend said she had nowhere else to turn for help. Wanting to assist despite not having Nigerian currency at the time, the lady sent ₦15,000 so her friend could at least buy food.
However, the situation reportedly took an unexpected turn when the recipient questioned the amount she received instead of expressing appreciation.
Disappointed by the response, the lady wondered whether she should ask for the money back.
Sharing the experience online, she wrote:
“I just sent this money to friend who complain he is hungry and stranded. She said she had no where to run to, i said ok i dont have naira at moment but make she hold this one to at least see food chop.”
She added:
“She just replied saying shey na 15k i see send to her… Omo make she send the 15k back. When i gather i go send her enough money. Abi wetin una think.”
The post has since generated mixed reactions on social media. While some argued that genuine help should be appreciated regardless of the amount, others felt there may have been a misunderstanding about the sender’s intentions or the recipient’s expectations.
