A Nigerian lady has gone viral after sharing an embarrassing but hilarious experience she had while riding on an okada.
The X user, @Ola-sun-kanmi, recounted that the truck in front of their motorcycle suddenly reversed. Although the okada rider quickly tried to reverse to avoid a collision, another truck behind them also began reversing at high speed, trapping them in a terrifying situation.
According to her, bystanders immediately shouted at the truck driver to stop, but she was too shocked to utter a single word.
With little room to escape, the okada rider swiftly veered into a nearby bush, narrowly avoiding what could have been a serious accident.
After the danger had passed, she made a funny discovery—her hands were tightly wrapped around the okada rider from behind. Embarrassed, she quietly let go, and both of them continued the journey in complete silence.
Reacting to the post, many social media users said her reaction was completely understandable.
Abisma wrote, “That wasn’t fearlessness disappearing; that was survival mode activating. In that situation, nobody is thinking about dignity or personal space. Your brain simply says, ‘Stay alive first, discuss the embarrassment later.’”
Omobolanle commented, “Omo, it’s not easy o. Glad you both got out of that safely.”
Wellness Tosin said, “I can’t stop laughing. Thank God for sparing your life. But the part where you said you were hugging the bike man is just too funny.”
Clem added, “Thank God nothing happened and the bike rider was able to avoid the truck. In situations like this, we cling to life consciously and unconsciously.”
