A married man has stirred intense debate online after revealing that his wife is considering ending their marriage following the discovery that he secretly conducted a DNA test on their newborn daughter.
The man shared his story anonymously on X through a post by @Ruky_Baby27, explaining that lingering doubts about his wife’s fidelity pushed him to verify the child’s paternity without her knowledge.
According to him, his suspicions began during the pregnancy when he noticed what he described as unusual changes in his wife’s behaviour. He claimed she became emotionally distant and increasingly protective of her phone, which led him to question whether she was being unfaithful.
“My wife gave birth to our baby girl three days ago and instead of enjoying fatherhood peacefully, I secretly did a DNA test behind her back,” he wrote.
He added that stories from friends about men unknowingly raising children that were not biologically theirs fueled his fears.
“My friends kept putting fear in my head with stories of men raising children that were not theirs. I tried ignoring it, but the doubt kept eating me alive.”
The man said that despite supporting his wife throughout labour and witnessing the pain she endured during childbirth, the uncertainty remained.
“I stayed with her throughout labour. I watched her scream in pain for hours. I held her hand, prayed for her, and almost cried when our daughter was born.”
According to his account, he arranged for a DNA test the following morning while his wife was asleep in the hospital.
When the results arrived, they confirmed that he was the biological father of the baby. Believing it was a harmless revelation, he shared the outcome online.
“The result came back yesterday. The baby is mine. I posted, ‘Just did DNA test right after birth. Baby girl is mine.’ I thought people would laugh and move on.”
However, his wife reportedly saw the post and was devastated by what she perceived as a betrayal of trust.
“She started crying and asked me how I could watch her suffer for nine months, push a child out, and still think she cheated on me. She feels humiliated and betrayed, especially because I posted it publicly.”
The man revealed that his wife is now talking about leaving the marriage after she is discharged from the hospital.
The story has generated mixed reactions online. While some people argued that every man has the right to confirm paternity if he has doubts, many others felt the greater issue was not the DNA test itself but the secrecy involved and the decision to publicly announce it shortly after his wife gave birth.
