Wedding Plans Reportedly Cancelled Over Chike Comment Section Drama

A Nigerian man identified as Awuzie Frankline has stirred major reactions online after claiming that his friend allegedly called off plans to marry a woman because of her comments defending singer Chike amid the ongoing Sandra Edoho controversy.

According to Frankline, his friend reconsidered the relationship after seeing the woman actively supporting Chike in online comment sections related to rumours involving Chike and Sandra Edoho, ex-wife of media personality Frank Edoho.

He alleged that the discovery was enough for his friend to immediately abandon the proposed marriage, even before any formal introduction process began.

Frankline’s statement became even more controversial after he made sweeping remarks about Igbo women, suggesting they are “scary” and advising his friend to consider women from other tribes instead.

He wrote:

“My friend saw the lady he wanted to marry defending Chike online and had cancelled the proposed wedding. My guy no even wait for introduction list again… one comment section ended the love story. Good one. He should consider other tribe or go for Baby Mama… Igbo women are scary these days. Let her go and marry her papa. #Odiegwu”

His comments have since triggered heated debates across social media, with many users condemning both the tribal generalization and the idea of ending a serious relationship based solely on online opinions.

Reactions from social media users:

“This is exactly why social media is destroying relationships.”

“Generalizing Igbo women because of one person’s comment is wild.”

“If comment section can scatter your marriage plans, then it was never strong.”

“Some men are now using online behavior as full relationship screening.”

“The tribal attack is unnecessary and offensive.”
