A Nigerian pastor has stirred widespread reactions online after sharing a controversial testimony during a church sermon, where he attributed a financial incident to what he described as “spiritual favour.”
In a viral video circulating on X (formerly Twitter), the cleric claimed that despite having no money in his bank account, he instructed a church member to withdraw ₦500,000 on his behalf.
According to him:
“Do you know you have what it takes to command the bank? I had no kobo in my account, yet I sent one of our members to go and withdraw ₦500,000. The banker didn’t check the balance and gave the money.”
He further narrated that after the transaction, the bank allegedly attempted to debit the account but found no funds available. Surprisingly, he claimed that upon a later check, ₦585,000 appeared in the account and was subsequently withdrawn.
“I didn’t transfer anything, I don’t have shishi. When they checked again, ₦585,000 entered and it was withdrawn. If you have spiritual favour, you control the wealth of the world,” he added.
The statement has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many users questioning the credibility of the claim, while others interpreted it as a testimony of divine intervention.
Reactions from social media users:
“Ah omo, for him to lie inside church and thunder no strike him…..church lose its credibility.”
“Why do some pastors say things that are naturally and realistically impossible… but members just accept everything blindly like caged rats 🐀”
“This one no be miracle, na cruise 😅 Zero balance suddenly turn 500k? Abeg EFCC and DSS should check am well. God no dey run yahoo.”
“How do these people keep getting members that listen to this nonsense?”
“The Holy Spirit was apparently working through mobile banking that day.”
“You don’t have money in your account but you told someone to withdraw money from the same account you don’t have? 😂”
The viral clip continues to generate debate across social media, with users split between skepticism and faith-based interpretation of the incident.
