A man has sparked widespread reactions online after sharing how he discovered that his girlfriend of six months was allegedly living with another man while still in a relationship with him.
The story, which has circulated on social media, highlights ongoing concerns around trust, deception, and the complexities of modern dating, especially among young people.
According to the man, the relationship initially appeared stable and fulfilling. He described how the woman frequently visited his home, cooked for him, and even stocked his freezer with meals—gestures he interpreted as signs of commitment and care.
However, he began to grow suspicious over time due to one consistent pattern: she always refused to spend the night. Her reasons, which ranged from personal preferences to study habits, eventually raised doubts in his mind.
Driven by curiosity, he decided to follow her one evening after she left his house. According to his account, she stopped at a supermarket and shortly after met up with another man. The two were seen acting affectionately, which led him to believe she had been living with the man all along.
“Me and this girl dated for about six months, and everything felt smooth. We did almost everything together. She would come to my house, cook, and even stock my freezer with meals. She was literally my joy,” he said.
He added, “But one thing always felt off… she never liked spending the night. One evening, I followed her after she left my place. She stopped at a supermarket, and minutes later came out with a guy. They were all over each other. I later realised she had been living with him the whole time. I just went home, sent her a message, warned her never to return, and blocked her.”
The revelation has since triggered mixed reactions online. While many sympathised with the man over the apparent betrayal, others emphasised the importance of open communication, clarity of intentions, and avoiding assumptions in relationships.
The incident also reflects a broader trend of relationship controversies that have gone viral in Nigeria in recent years, often exposing cases of infidelity, hidden partners, and double lives.
