A Nigerian woman has captured online attention after sharing how she earns a steady income by charging mobile phones using solar power.
She revealed that her small-scale venture has become a reliable source of daily earnings, especially amid Nigeria’s inconsistent electricity supply. In just one day, she earned ₦12,000 from providing charging services to her community.
The woman explained how she allocates the money: ₦5,000 for her children’s needs, ₦5,000 saved, and the remaining ₦2,000 spent on household items like biscuits and sweets.
Highlighting the business potential, she noted that the lack of stable public electricity has opened opportunities for those offering alternative power solutions such as solar energy.
Sharing her day’s success, she said:
“As far as charging phones with solar is allowed in Nigeria… I made 12 thousand today. 5 thousand go to my children, 5 thousand go to our savings, the remaining 2 thousand go for biscuits and sweets. One man’s food is another man’s poison!”
The story has sparked conversations online about innovative small-scale businesses in the face of power challenges in Nigeria.
