A Nigerian woman has stirred reactions online after revealing her decision to send her husband out of their home following allegations that he impregnated another woman.
The story, shared on Facebook by Fegor Chime, detailed the woman’s emotional account of betrayal and her consideration of divorce after years of support and investment in the marriage.
According to her, she entered the marriage as a virgin while her husband was still struggling financially. She said she used her personal savings—reportedly close to ₦7 million—to set up a building materials business for him.
She further disclosed that she had purchased land before their wedding, and together they later built a three-bedroom apartment, which was completed last year. Notably, all the property documents are in her name. The couple has one child.
The woman recounted that she began noticing changes in her husband’s behaviour last year, including increased secrecy such as adding passwords to his phone and social media accounts. Although she initially ignored the signs, her suspicions grew after she suffered an infection that required significant treatment. She later linked it to her husband’s alleged infidelity.
Her fears were confirmed when another woman reportedly showed up at her shop, claiming to be in a relationship with her husband and revealing that he had told her he was single. The woman also disclosed that she was pregnant for him and presented evidence of their conversations.
When confronted, the husband initially denied the allegations. However, after being faced with the accuser and evidence in the presence of the woman’s elder brother, he was left unable to defend himself.
Following the incident, the woman’s brother reportedly collected the shop keys from the husband, and she issued him a three-day ultimatum to vacate their home. She also expressed her intention to file for divorce, despite his pleas for another chance.
She questioned whether her decision was justified, noting that she believes her husband would have reacted similarly if the roles were reversed.
