A Facebook user, identified as Austin Okoye, has raised concern over the whereabouts of one Ehindero Dayo Daniel, who reportedly went missing after failing to repay a loan he collected.
The appeal, which surfaced in the Facebook group I Love Jos, revealed that the man allegedly borrowed money and submitted his academic certificates as collateral before disappearing in 2021.
According to Okoye, all attempts to reach or locate him since then have been unsuccessful, prompting him to seek public assistance in finding the debtor.
To support his claim, Okoye shared photos of the man’s university certificate alongside his NYSC discharge certificate, urging anyone with useful information to come forward.
In his words:
“This is Ehindero Dayo Daniel. He borrowed money and gave his certificate as collateral and has disappeared since 2021. Please anybody with useful information about him should let me know please.”
Netizens’ Reactions
The post has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians sharing differing opinions on the situation:
Akire Kyrian said:
“Someone who used 8 years to study a course of 4 years and graduated with a third class, you want him to take the certificate serious?”
Stein Sunday Samuel wrote:
“You are keeping testimonial while he has original result. He had his discharge certificate number and photocopies. But why are you doing this now? You accepted collateral and it’s since with you. Why call him out?”
Paul Mariom remarked:
“But you no try at all. Results that he is supposed to use to get something doing in order to repay you, how do you expect him to repay?”
The situation has continued to generate debate, with some questioning the effectiveness of using certificates as collateral, while others criticized the public call-out years after the incident.
