A young Nigerian lady has sparked widespread reactions online after recounting how a TikTok suitor allegedly threatened her with her unclad photo following a birthday date.
In a viral video shared by @Abazz on X (formerly Twitter), the lady revealed that she met the man about two months before her birthday, and their conversations flowed smoothly, creating what seemed like genuine interest.
According to her, the man proposed that they meet on her birthday and promised to make the day special. However, on the day of the planned outing, she said her calls and messages went unanswered for hours. He later resurfaced, claiming he had been arrested and was in police custody.
The man allegedly begged her to send ₦30,000 to help resolve the situation, assuring her he would refund the money once they met. Later that same day, he invited her to the hotel where he was lodging.
She further explained that the following morning, after stepping out briefly, the man contacted her again to ask what she wanted to eat. After she replied, he requested an additional ₦5,000, claiming his bank account was experiencing issues.
Upon returning home and narrating the experience to a friend, she was advised to request a refund, as it appeared the money she sent had been used to cover hotel expenses.
However, when she asked for her money back, the man allegedly responded by sending her a “view once” photo. To her shock, the image was a nude photo of herself, which he reportedly used to threaten her into silence.
The incident has since generated mixed reactions online, with some users criticizing the man’s actions, while others questioned how the warning signs were missed. One commenter wrote, “Men of these days are now gigolos,” while another added, “How on earth did you not see the signs?”
