An elderly man has been chased out of Uruezi Egbema community in Ozubulu, Anambra State, following allegations that he raped a married woman.
The incident, which has sparked widespread reactions online, was captured in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @ChiksEricE. The footage shows a group of women escorting the elderly man out of the village in a tense scene.
In the video, the women are seen shouting at the man as they chased him away, with many holding sticks and tree branches. Some of the women reportedly used the objects to beat him as he walked, while others urged him to leave the community permanently.
Although the full details surrounding the allegation remain unclear, the women appeared united in their anger, insisting that the man should no longer remain in the village following the accusation.
As of the time of reporting, there has been no official statement from the Anambra State Police Command regarding the incident, and it is unclear whether the matter has been formally reported to law enforcement.
The video has continued to generate mixed reactions on social media, with some users condemning the alleged act, while others raised concerns about mob justice and called for proper investigation and legal action instead of vigilantism.
