Yul Edochie, a popular Nollywood actor, has reportedly lost his first child with his first wife, May, Kambilichukwu Edochie.
The circumstances surrounding Yul Edochie’s son’s death remain unknown, but according to reports, Kambilichukwu collapsed while playing football with his friends.
A family member who confirmed the news to Vanguard said the 16-year-old had read all night Tuesday in preparation for his exams on Wednesday.
He joined his friends to play football after his exam. He sagged and had a seizure while playing. He was rushed to Mother and Child Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
“After his exam in school, he joined his mates to play football and he developed a seizure and was rushed to Mother and Child Hospital. All efforts by the doctors to resuscitate him proved abortive,” Vanguard quoted the source as saying.
Yul Edochie and his wife May have made no public statements about their son’s reported death as of this writing. Fans and colleagues, on the other hand, have taken to social media to express their condolences and words of comfort to the actor and his family.
Kambilichukwu turned 16 in January 2023, and his parents celebrated on social media.
