A young father of a two-week-old baby has opened up about the emotional turmoil in his marriage, blaming external family interference for the growing tension between him and his wife.
The man, who currently lives with his mother, revealed that his wife’s elder brother has openly shown disdain towards him, largely due to his financial situation. According to him, the brother had long opposed their union and even encouraged his sister to leave the relationship before she became pregnant.
He said the depth of the issue became clear when he noticed his wife in tears. Concerned, he asked what was wrong, only for her to respond with a heartbreaking question: “Did I make the wrong decision by marrying you?”
Shocked by the statement, he probed further and discovered that her brother had sent her a voice note filled with harsh criticism. In the message, the brother allegedly called his sister a “disgrace” and expressed disappointment over her choice of partner.
Disturbed by the situation, the young father said he confronted the brother the following morning, warning him to stop sending messages that could emotionally harm his wife. He reminded him that his wife was now married and no longer under his authority, and also threatened to report him to authorities over alleged fraudulent activities if the interference continued.
However, the confrontation appeared to escalate the situation. The brother reportedly reached out to his sister again, advising her to distance herself from her husband’s family.
Since then, the man claims his wife has withdrawn completely and stopped communicating with him, leaving him overwhelmed and mentally drained.
“I’m going crazy right now and I can’t think of anything. So many things are happening to me at the same time and it’s driving me crazy,” he lamented.
The situation highlights the powerful role extended family can play in marriages, especially when financial struggles and personal expectations come into conflict—more so during sensitive periods like early motherhood.
