A Nigerian woman has taken to social media to criticize a man who she and her friends claim assaulted at a Port Harcourt club after they would not let him use a reserved chair.
The incident was reported on X (formerly Twitter) by @Monie_HRM, who posted pictures of the man who was allegedly responsible for the attack.
She claims that her friends were celebrating a birthday at Black Box Club when the assault occurred.
This man beat up my friends at the club because they didn’t allow him sit on the chair they reserved for a birthday celebration,” she wrote. “He broke bottles on their heads, stripped one of them, and another lost her front tooth. Please, the videos are attached.”
In one of the videos that were included with the post, a woman who says she was one of the victims described the terrifying experience.
They had reserved a table in advance at Black Box Club, where they went to celebrate her friend’s birthday, she said.
She explained that as they were having fun, the man in question started to object, saying he did not want to be filmed, while one of her friends was filming a video.
Despite her friend’s clarification that he was not being filmed, it was said that he became aggressive and attacked them.
“He started hitting my friend, claiming she was recording him,” she said. “When I tried to intervene, he broke a bottle on my head. I was bleeding. The only thing we did wrong was to go out as girls. Is every girl in Nigeria a prostitute?”
She added that the man also insisted on sitting at their reserved table, despite being told that it was booked for their event.
“He said we had no right to sit while he was standing. This man assaulted my friends, stripped one, and left me with injuries. All my life, no one has ever raised their hands on me until now.”
The disturbing video sparked outrage online, with many users flooding the comment section to condemn the alleged assault and call for justice.
