Woman accuses I-Fitness gym of fraud after being charged ₦73,800 despite canceling membership

An I-Fitness gym has been accused of defrauding a Nigerian woman after they allegedly kept taking out her ₦73,800 monthly subscription fee for four months even after she cancelled.

In an article posted on her page on the well-known social media network X (formerly Twitter).

In her frustration, the woman said that after canceling her membership in October of the previous year, I-Fitness gym had not stopped the deductions.

She wrote: “I-Fitness, you’re thieves and scammers. I canceled my subscription with you since October last year, yet you continued deducting my money.”

She continued, saying, “I asked you what was happening and why my money was still being deducted after I had already canceled the subscription. You told me you don’t refund, but that you would give me three months of free service to cover the fees.”

The woman added, “In January, I visited your gym to let you know that I would be coming to use the three months, but I couldn’t because the gym is far from my location. The three months haven’t ended, yet you’re still deducting money. You’ve taken ₦73,900 over four months. Refund my money.”

Since then, she has urged I-Fitness gym to reimburse the money, and the post has stirred up a lot of online discussion, with worried people pouring their thoughts into the comments section.
