What should Yoruba men do with their Igbo wives and children? – AY Makun poses questions in reaction to the Lagos election

AY Makun, a Nigerian comedian and actor, has reacted to events in Lagos during the recently concluded Presidential and Governorship elections.

It should be remembered that the Lagos electoral process was marred by tribalism and bigotry.

Many Igbos and those who did not intend to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) were denied the right to vote in some polling units across the state.

Following the gubernatorial election last Saturday, March 18, there was also social media tribalism between some Yoruba and Igbo people.

In response to the tribal conflict, AY Comedian asked on Twitter what people in inter-tribal marriages should do about their partners and children, specifically Yoruba men married to Igbo women.

AY, who is married to a Delta-born woman named Mabel, also made a subtle dig at Femi Fani-Kayode, a Nigerian politician who has been a vocal supporter of the tribal war.

He wrote on Twitter,

“Now that d elections are officially ‘over’ in Lagos State, I am sure all these talks about BIGOTS & MAGGOTS will end on d lips of some COCONUT heads like d FOOLISH FEDERAL KOLA-NUT (FFK) seekers, Una for tell us wetin una want we Yoruba boys to do with our Igbo wives & children.

I just weak …..I don’t feel like a Nigerian no more …

D national anthem so heavy for my mouth now”
