“What is it about this generation’s lack of discretion?” – Pastor’s wife is enraged by women’s lustful comments on her husband’s photo

Laju Iren, the wife of Nigerian clergyman Pastor Emmanuel Iren, has expressed her displeasure with women who leave lustful comments under her husband’s photo on social media.

In an Instagram post, the mother of two shared a photo of her husband and expressed how much she misses him because he was on a mission trip. She also gushed about him and expressed her eagerness for him to return home.

“I’m missing you, my lover. Please return soon. “See as you fine like 2 million people,” she captioned the photo.

Some ladies apparently went under the post to make derogatory remarks about her husband, the lead pastor of Celebration Church International (CCI).

Incensed by the comments, Laju Iren, a filmmaker and author, took to Twitter to warn women to respect her boundaries and refrain from leaving such comments under her husband’s or any married man’s post.

She wrote in a series of tweets,

“Posted my husband’s picture, and I said I miss you my lover. One lady commented, ‘Our lover’ another one said ‘me too.’ So grateful my mother taught me boundaries because what on earth is the lack of discretion in this generation? >>>

It’s not everything that comes to mind that you’ll say. Shop in the book of Proverbs for common sense. Some people will post their dad’s pics online and Christian girls will say: ‘Can your mummy fight?’ What’s that? Like what on earth is that really?

Grateful to be married to a good man, grateful to be secure in my marriage. But as a Pastor, I’m not doing ladies a favour if I don’t mention things like this. Even if you don’t mean what you say, it says a whole lot about you! About the kind of person you are.

You don’t mean anything by it, but you don’t see anything wrong with it, and that’s the problem. People without boundaries easily cross lines because they have none. Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion. Proverbs 11:22.

Reassess yourself, and if you won’t that’s your business, but kindly don’t bring that energy around me or mine. My angels are many and they don’t play cute. Thanks.”

@chykehez: Simple! Did you learn anything at all? You can lecture till tomorrow but did you get something from that? People will responded in line with your language! You called him “lover” which triggers the mischievous response . Anyway just be tough and love same Time

@bellucino: You are right, ma. However, I would suggest Pastor do something about it. I know there are loads of Genzs in your church and pastor tries to be very friendly et all. It would be nice if he tries to also set some boundaries as well.

@Ashibuogoh: The real lack of discretion here is choosing to share what should be a private message on social media.

If you had texted your husband privately to tell him you miss him, no one would have had the opportunity to comment on it.

Keep personal/private communications out of SM.

@emefenayesioh: Why would anyone refer to a pastor as their lover, when you aren’t the wife. Don’t you fear God, have boundaries, respect for the man of God and his family?? It’s madness to me
