Olamide Alli and Abiodun Agboola tied the knot in the airport terminal on Saturday, surprising and delighting onlookers at Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal II in Lagos State with an unexpected and surprise wedding ceremony.
The wedding reportedly happened in the terminal II departure area of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, which is run by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd (BASL).
Due to space constraints, the cordoned-off section of the terminal could only accommodate a small gathering of 50 guests to witness the intimate ceremony.
The unique airport wedding, according to Mr. Kola Bamigboye, Chief Operating Officer of Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd (BASL), was intended to highlight MMA2’s versatility as more than just a terminal.
He hoped that by holding this first wedding, more couples would think about using airports as unusual locations for their big day.
Mr Kola said:
“We like to bring people together. It’s either you are traveling through our terminal or you are coming here to solidify your love.”
In addition, Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd. (BASL) Head of Aviation Security Mrs. Monica Oguta saw the wedding as an opportunity to innovate and enhance airport terminals.
She clarified that the couple was just a regular Nigerian couple when asked if they were airport employees.
Oguta said …
“They are just Nigerians who felt the idea was good.
“I started nursing the idea of an airport wedding some years back and when the opportunity came, we seized it.”
