A frustrated mother has sparked online debates after warning her daughter about what she called a bad habit that could repel men.
In a viral TikTok video shared by user @cyndy, the mother advised her daughter to stop telling men she is hungry when they start talking to her. She argued that frequently asking for food or money early in a conversation sends the wrong message and may scare potential suitors away.
The mother questioned why her daughter would complain about being hungry to a man she hasn’t properly met or gotten to know. She explained that such behavior can make it seem like she’s more interested in what she can gain than in building a genuine connection.
She further cautioned that repeatedly saying “I’m hungry” or “I haven’t eaten” might come across as poor attitude or desperation, causing men to lose interest quickly. “Men are human too and get hungry,” she added, “but society doesn’t expect them to announce it constantly.”
The video has divided social media users—some agreed with the mother’s advice, calling it a reality check, while others felt expressing hunger shouldn’t be a big deal.
