Social media users have responded differently to a video showing a visually impaired man making a living by peddling plastic containers.
The man is seen using a walking stick to navigate the streets while balancing plastic containers of different sizes on his head and shoulders in the video, which was posted by X user @Lusemaouth_Mc.
The user claims that the man is a common sight along Ibadan’s Oluyole Extension Estate, especially on market days. He expressed his concern over the man’s struggle and called for support.
“Here is a blind man trying to make ends meet by hawking big bowls along my place of work. I see him almost every market day. I wish he could get help,” he captioned the video.
The post has since generated a wave of reactions, with some commending the man’s resilience, while others criticized the lack of support for people with disabilities in society.
An X user @Asake_Alagbo reacted, “Omoh! Even in his condition, he’s still trying to work! It is well.”
Another user, @peace_igho added, “Men will always find a way to provide for their family.”
