During a business conversation, a Nigerian vendor described a distressing experience with a customer who harassed her.
The vendor revealed in a video posted to her TikTok page that the man had gotten in touch with her to place an order for a pair of boxers.
Things took a surprising turn, though, when he insisted on seeing her face before giving the order.
She said she usually does not answer video calls from strangers, so she turned down the man’s first WhatsApp video call.
She asked him to send a message instead.
He said he wanted to order a boxer and that he was in Port Harcourt, but she said she was based in Lagos and would ship the item after payment was received.
After some back and forth, she claims the man demanded to see her face to make sure he was not being duped.
She was hesitant at first, but after a while she gave in to his apparently legitimate worry.
“I told him I don’t usually do video calls, but since it’s business and his reasons were valid, I allowed it,” she said. “He called but didn’t see my face clearly, so he said he wanted a proper view.”
“I told him to hang up and call back. When he did, I first positioned the camera on my forehead, but he insisted he wanted to see my full face,” she added. “The moment I showed my face, he lowered his camera to his private part and started stroking it.”
She warned other vendors to exercise caution when interacting virtually with strangers, expressing her dismay and disgust in the video.
As the video went viral online, a large number of social media users flocked to the comment section to express their opinions and denounce the man’s inappropriate actions.
