A newlywed couple has come under fire from a vendor for allegedly using a wedding gown on credit for their ceremony and then not paying for it months later.
The incident, which has gone viral on social media, was detailed in a series of posts by the vendor, who accused the bride of being the “first to make a wedding dress without payment and still refuse to pay three months after the wedding.”
According to the vendor, she had originally designed the gown, but a bride-to-be saw it and requested it for her wedding.
Due to financial constraints, the bride pleaded for the dress on credit, promising to pay after the wedding.
The bride reportedly assured the vendor that she would settle the payment with money received from cash sprays at the wedding, as she had no other dress to wear.
However, after receiving the gown, the vendor claims the bride, her husband, and their family—who had initially begged for the dress—completely stopped communicating with her.
Expressing her frustration, the vendor shared her ordeal:
“Before I post am, you kn how many people wey reach out to her and her husband to pay me? You know how many calls and messages??”
“Up to 3 and half months not and she only deposited $50 for a wedding dress. I made the dress with my own money and 7 days to the wedding, they started begging me.”
“The whole family was calling me from Liberia to send her dress, that she doesn’t have another dress to wear. I told her about my money, she said once they spray her at the wedding, she will pay me. I said ok.”
“I sent her dress to Liberia and immediately they received it, all of them stopped talking to me. They base in USA but they are Liberians. I called so many times sha and the husband didn’t pick. I wrote messages, nobody responded.”
“Then I started posting them on Snapchat, and people that kn them reach out to them before they could pay me half. They did that to me because they kn I am not from their country and I am in Nigeria, not in USA….”
Frustrated by their refusal to pay, she took to social media to call them out, labeling them as thieves.
