A Nigerian living in the UK has publicly criticised Netflix, tagging @NetflixNaija and @NetflixUK in an open letter regarding the lack of Nigerian films on the streaming services.
After sharing the post on X (formerly Twitter), the worried subscriber bemoaned Netflix’s inability to offer Nigerian films, even after being a devoted customer for more than three years.

“As a Nigerian living in the United Kingdom and a loyal subscriber for the past 40 months, I see no justifiable reason why I should not have access to Nigerian movies on your platform.”
“Nollywood is one of the largest film industries in the world, and its content matters deeply to millions of us in the diaspora.”
“It’s incredibly frustrating to see that, despite being a paying customer, I’m unable to enjoy films from my own culture simply because of my current location.”
“If this issue isn’t resolved soon, I may have no choice but to consider alternative streaming services that offer more inclusive and region-accessible content.”

In his post, he made it clear that if the issue is not addressed, he may be forced to switch to a more inclusive platform.
As his letter gained traction online, concerned individuals flooded the comment section to share their views, with many echoing his sentiments and urging Netflix to do better in catering to its African audience abroad.
